In Episode 5, Mayrah chats with Daumbal, Murri and Tongan woman – and 2019 NAIDOC Youth of the Year – Mi-kaisha Masella. Mi-kaisha is a talented singer-songwriter, social entrepreneur, and political activist, who frequently speaks about contemporary issues which impact on young Aboriginal people.

Mi-kaisha is a founding member of the Steering Committee for Kimberwalli at the Western Sydney Indigenous, the 2019 NAIDOC Youth of the Year, and the first Indigenous Australian to be accepted into an undergraduate degree at the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music at New York University. Mi-kaisha chats about her journey in music and performance, her experiences as a young black woman in Australia, confronting misinformed perceptions and expectations in relation to Indigenous identity, and more.
